Decisions Don't Change Profile Scores

I had two instances in a row where Meritocracy failed to update. In this case I'm positive because I had a demand to raise it by 13 points and on two successive turns I was (coincidentally?) offered decisions that would raise it by exactly 13 points. In both cases (subversive philosophy refugees and extradition request) I said yes and in both cases I got the promised relation bonus with certain leaders but the Meritocracy score did not change. I took some screenshots if that is of any value.

Then on the next turn I was offered a third decision that would raise it by 13 points, I said yes and in this case the score finally went up.

I also had a separate instance where allowing some refugee artists with unusual sex lives in would change a profile score and that also failed to update.

I'm quite sure this is happening other times I'm not watching as closely - I've had multiple instances where I look at my Profile and think "shouldn't X have gone up?" and I'm not sure if I remembered the number correctly or what.

Separately, I notice sometimes Profile scores change between turns on their own, but my theory is that this is a poorly documented game mechanic, that somehow the dominance of certain Profile score will cause an antagonistic score to go down over time - is this an actual thing or why do Profile scores change on their own?

One of the three types in that tree blocks meritocracy from raising above a certain point if higher and the other lowers it if you accept that. Perhaps the one was preventing it from happening until you did it enough to over come the one that blocked it.

Huh?

To my knowledge it is not a "block". It just reduceds the supressed profile, until both together are bellow 100.
Events can still fully cause them to go beyond the X+Y > 100 point. It will just decay from there.

Yes that's a bug.

Thanks. It was mistake to include the piece about antagonistic profile types in here, I understand that system better now. But the important takeaway is that the Decision system is bugged, multiple decisions are not producing the effects they are supposed to.

The best we can do is report them with a Image. Ideally while playing the latest beta, so stuff is not over-reported.

It sounds a lot like an issue that was already solved. Please check the version you used to start the game and the version you have currently. By mouse-overing the Version# in dashboard report. If both are v1.04 then send me a savegame to vic@vrdesigns.net and a line telling me which decision that can be made in that savegame does not update and i'll take a serious look at it.

best wishes,
Vic
