Stymied by replacement aircraft not released

I have many air-groups short 1-6 planes with 20+ in the replacement pool, but none issued. Best I can do is turn replacements on to see the message 'Replacements Delayed'. Manual page 255/256 requires the recipient air group to be in a 1+ airfield, with 20K supplies and within air transfer range of HQ. Received during Supply Operation Phase; and only checked ever 2 out of every 3 days. As USN in early September 1942, I do not as yet have any air HQs, only SoPac, SWPac, and AusHQ.
--
Playing the Guadalcanal scenario. Rarely does either side afford to have a base with 20K supply as would infer many bases would be starved of supply. [Opponent is has indicated his supply shortages as well]. I get 1000 supply a day at Sydney; 1500 at Noumea. From WITP the location of HQs draws supplies from other locations.
---
I will experiment making Australian base with HQs get to 20K to see if that will let replacement a/c to be released. Assumes the Australian rail net will not dissapate supply from this base to other bases in need also on the rail net.
---
Any other insight is appreciated.

How long ago did those units receive replacements? In am sure that if you looked in the manual that it would tell you how often the air units can accept replacements.

Manual page 255/256 requires the recipient air group to be in a 1+ airfield, with 20K supplies and within air transfer range of HQ.
The manual goes into detail on the requirements for air groups to receive replacements. Go back and read it again. One thing for sure its not a 1+ airfield. IIRC you need a 7 level airfield, but the requirements are a bit complicated, so check them again.

Every seven days.

I want him to look in the manual when he has a question about something. He has been posting a lot of questions where the answers are easily found in the manual.

I am still waiting to be able to be able to add replacements. I have a Kittyhawk group with 10 planes (max is 16) with 22 in the pool. They are at Townsville were the SWPac and 1Aus Corps HQ is, with about 18K supply. Similar story for my Beaufighter group, and an A20 group; both waiting 5+ turns. Will track turn by turn. I get the US 5th Air force HQ in 10-20 turns at Brisbane; that may help. As SWPac is at Townsville, may draw supply from other bases via rail net (HQs in WITP drew supply to itself). But also have to ship supply to Townsville, Port Moresby, and Milne Bay. If only my PBEM opponents would cooperate.
----
I get a 13th AF January in Noumea but scenario ends in February.
---
Oddly at times a group at a small base with few supplies can add replacements.
---
In past turns of the game I have put groups needed to draw replacements that exist in the pool at Brisbane (SWPac starts there) or Sydney (Australian HQ). there is no RAAF HQ in the game. Likewise in Noumea there is only the SoPac HQ. Noumea starts scenario with 20K supply but some has to go to Efate, Luganville, Lunga, and Tulagi (faster than the 1500 Noumea gets a turn).
---
I rely too much on my past/current WITP play, understanding many nuances are different in AE that I may be ignorant of.

Point taken: Will take a day an read the AE manual to see what is different. Wopuld be nice if there was a resource stating what changed between WITP and AE; perhaps there is.
I know the WITP thoroughly as played that pbem for 6 years after a year of pbem UCV; still playing pbem Pacific War. Will take a day an read the AE manual to see what is different. As in most of the more recent Grigsby games: UCV, WITE, WITP, WBTS, etc, the manual covers concepts; one has to figure out the details yourself [or ask the collective player base via forum.] Whereas in the early Grigsby games in teh 1980s, the various combat formulas were in the manual.

That's because of the nuances of the rules for aircraft replacements. Again go back and read the section of the manual. At the moment I don't have the time to look into it myself. Hey I've been at this 'beast' for a long time and I do the same as I don't recall all the requirements either.

There's nothing that compares the two games. TBH they are essentially different games, although some aspects look familiar.

Pages 255-256 of the manual do not say what you claim them to say. Not for the first time in your threads you fail to correctly read the manual.

I conflated replacements with upgrades, it is a 1+ airfield for replacements.
At any rate refer to the pages that Alfred has referenced above. Specifically section 16.2.
