SHP update

"Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...." (Jaws, 1976)

Looks like the graphics project is not finished! Harry found a few errors among the original SP icons that needed fixing/cleaning (missing zoom levels, etc), as well as some requests from designers that weren't fulfilled yet. I'll be using this opportunity to add a couple dozen more multihex buildings plus several 'odds & ends' too. If there are any more ideas for icons/buildings (or any that you created yourself) that you would like to see included, please consider this 'last call' and get them to me or Rockin Harry.

**None of these additions will affect maps made using the first set of SHP's we released.**

The updated files should be ready in about a week; I'll post an announcement here and upload them to the same location as before. Just to clarify: designers who already downloaded the SHP's can continue using them, and anyone needing an advance copy can still download them. Also, I've been told that besides being included in the upcoming H2H patch, the new graphics will also be available on the Arsenal site (and possibly others) for those who use v7.1 of SPWAW.

OK, I lied :D

The final additions only took a day to complete...looks like I've become alot more proficient with ShpEd than I realized!

I fired the entire package off to Panzer Leo, and I uploaded the final SHPs and images to the same location as before (if anyone wants to grab them early).

Here's what was added today:
  • Harry found that there were 4 reed-roofed huts in the original SPWAW 'wooden building' category, but by some oversight they only appeared at maximum zoom...he created and added the other zoom levels.
  • Harry added 3 corner rowhouses (per Grenadier's request).
  • Harry 'cleaned up' the pontoon-bridge icons.
  • I added 17 more multihex buildings to Ter85 (Multihex, 5-Use2).
Harry also sent me the updated version of his 'guide' in PDF format; if you're unable to download it from the link in his sig, let me know and I'll mail it out.

Thanks to everyone who provided the ideas and support that made this all possible...you know who you are.;)

I have them on a personal website with a strict download limit so I'm not posting the link 'in the clear'...I sent it to you in a PM. I learned tonight that they'll be available on a public site 'very soon' though, and they'll also be included in both the H2H patch and the v7.2 OOB patch.

Great idea;)
They have absolutely deserved some kind of monument of their wonderful job.

I hope we don't need to wait much longer those new patches for H2H and SPWaW:(

Thanks! When you consider all the folks who chipped in with ideas, and all the experts who provided answers when I needed them, I think this was more of a 'community effort'.

From what I read in the respective threads, it looks like H2H should be out within a week, and the v7.2 OOB patch should be a couple days behind that. But I'm sure Leo and Mel are doing their best to beat their own deadlines! :D

I didn't mean to slight Mel & Leo so I guess they get the iron cross with palms. There now the world is right again. :D :D
