ships unable to RTB but still at sea

In a game where all Polish ports fell on impulse 1 and 2 French CA's sailed into Baltic on impulse 2, we still have the French CA's alive and well in the Baltic despite the rule about destroying ships if there are no ports available. I'm sure I've seen Soviet navy destroyed when Leningrad ices over and they are at sea so why would they still be alive in this case?

Thanks

A posted save would help.

Or at least a picture with hex control.

I suspect that a port in the Baltic still remains Allied controlled during the stay at sea step.

The culprit, I guess, is Aarhus still under Allied control.

I loaded the game with version 3.1.0.7 and the two French cruisers were eliminated because they had no supporting port.

So I suppose it is an old bug. The solution seems to be to update your game version, or just solve the bug within the program.

I just recalled that I have had this bug previously. In at least one game as Germany. I wonder if it was in the game you entered late. Never mind. We just let the French ships drop down to the 0-box and then be destroyed.
