A forum search shows others asking this, but no replies. I scanned the game files to no avail.

Similar to the arachnid target type question, what is a Gun?
Leaders can have a skill to give this type of units bonuses, and it appears as a unit type in the terrain table. Presumably it is Artillery and certain other units (Rocket Artillery?).

I would like to get an answer to this, too.

Anything that increase "guns" counter in combat screen when you're adding them to attack forces. [;)]

Artillery and Mech. arty are guns. Don't remember about rockets/missiles but you could check it in that way.

About arachnids - dunno, but tanks with 400 soft attack wipe them like a trash [:D].
