Hi guys I have a steam version of TOAW. I recently reinstalled it on new computer and it now has a sound problem when it runs. The only audio effect is a hissing/popping sound which can be turned on and off with the usual controls. No music, background or battle effects can be head except for that annoying sound.

I have updated all the audio controllers.Restarted and uninstalled and reinstalled all to no avail.

I have never had this problem before with the steam version or CD version when I had it.

Any help appreciated.

Just turn off sound and listen to some music instead. The ancient audio library this game uses will continue to cause all kinds of issues and there's no easy fix.

You could contact support though, but they'll likely lead you on a wild goose chase through DXDiag reports (that they never examine anyway) and reinstalling to no use [8|]

There are also cool Battle Ambiance soundtracks on YouTube, pick one and set it to Loop then TOAW all day/night and enjoy it!

is what I'm currently using. I've downloaded it and play it with VCL ( free ) while I'm doing my moves. It makes a difference.
