Planet gravity question

Hello all.
I have been following along with DasTactic tutorials.
He advises trying to get a gravity of around .4
With the new update, I downloaded today I can't get below .5
What is the range of gravity that will allow me to play without impacting the game?
Would .8 as a maximum be ok?

Ignore it, gravity impact is irrelevant (it have some influence on wind speed & amount of metals in core for deep mining - nothing really important for gameplay).
Not every recommendation is worth following it :)

Gravity is tied to the map size. The larger the map, the larget the planet, the heavier gravity.

Das Tactics Arugment was this:
- decent Gravity is required for Atmosphere
- Atmosphre is required for life
- So if you want life, try to get at least 0.4 G

0.5G > 0.4G. Therefore the requirement is met.

Note that his toutorial was before the planet history selections. Those kinda change the rules a bit.

I would also mention that in gameplay there are three notable differences between planet with some life and planet with no life:

1) If that was alien life & evolved up to non-water lifeform then you will get oil. But there is no guaranty that you will see that oil around your starting point :) There is a way to generate own oil too.

2) If alien lifeforms will evolve to large land-based forms - you will get them as enemies. Sometimes quite scary enemies.

2) On planets eligible to open-farming (they could both have and not have alien life - with alien life it should be not too bio-aggressive) is much easier to feed your people in long run.

Technically lifeless planets are fine (and usually even more fun to play if you aren't fan of xeno-fauna).
