How do you see if two AI factions are at war with each other or other diplomatic relations?

By sending enough spies to see their ongoing wars.

Sorry but I can not find the information. In my game there are two large factions left.
I am friends with both and can see quite a lot in their area. I have three and two spies there.
I have all councils with good leaders. I looked through the region's overview but found nothing.
Where does it say exactly? How do I know diplomatic status between two AI factions, must have missed something.
I hope you do not mean that I have to have a complete overview on the map and see if both are in battle with each other and that is the only possibility.

Reports>Regimes and the very last info should be "at war with:..."

AFAIK major AI do not make any diplomatic deals between each other - they're either in war (you can see it in row "At war with:" in faction overview) or in peace.

First you need enough Regime Recon. Per 5.14.2.1 you need:
5 to figure out War and Peace.
Aside from Diplomatic Deals, the primary way to get Regime Recon is "Number of spies in all zones times 2".

There is no mention of the other deals. As was said, it is possible they do not use them. The AI uses somewhat different rules, see 5.18. for deatails.
But that list indicates it does still use some Stratagems. But those might be limited to peace offerings.
