Hi. I recently purchased and installed Shadow Empire. When I ran it, I discovered that all the text in the game was so tiny it was virtually illegible. I squinted my way to a preferences menu, where I saw options for different resolutions and I tried some other resolutions. Some of them produced more legible text. However, I discovered that the game did not just change in-game resolution, it changed my entire computer's resolution and I had to go to my Windows settings to change it back to normal.

So I have several questions. First, what is the "native resolution" for this game--the resolution it was designed to be played on. Second, is there a way to get to this resolution, so the game will be legible for me, without it messing up my whole computer?

I was really quite surprised by this; all my other games either seem to come with a default resolution for the game itself or have somehow otherwise adapted themselves to my computer's basic resolution without it impacting things like font size and text readability.

Help would be appreciated, thanks.

IIRC the game was designed for 1080p, but some users say than thanks to the in-game settings you're able to play on 1440p.

Are you running it in true Fullscreen?
Or Borderless Window Mode?
Have you used the Scaling Options?

I don't know what "true fullscreen" is or how to do whatever it is. Ditto the second.

I saw what appeared to be some scaling options in the game settings and clicked on a couple but nothing seemed to change.

The game runs in your desktop resolution. (resetting it in windows settings, will cause the game to launch with your new setting as well)

The ideal resolution depends much on the actual Size in inch of your screen. If you have a huge screen you could even play the game in 4K. On a modest screen HD is probably best.

In prefs you can change
(a) Resolution
(b) DPI/Scaling %

If you use (a) it will reset your screen resolution, but it should put it back again after you Quit/Close the Shadow Empire application

If you use (b) it should simulate running the game in a lower resolution. If not you might have some very special computer specs. Please do share your OS / Monitor resolution(s), etc, if this is the case for you.
