I have downloaded SPWAW ver 7.1 and am having problems installing.

I havce installed, and when I click on the SPWAW iclon , I get the starting screen. When I click on the "Play World at War" button, the SSI and Matrix Logo comes on, then the video with all the contributors, and website shows, then nothing???

If I press any of the major keys (enter, esc, ctrl-c, etc) the screen clicks black then retuns to my desktop.

I have read through some of the threads and have turned off Norton Ant-virus, and the DVD write software, tried to run 800X600 video, and started from just mech.exe but to no avail.

The system is a generic built AMD XP1800+ ASUS A7S333 motherboard, 512MB memory, Aopen Riva TNT2 model 64 With Driver V31.40. My OS is Win2k, with DirectX ver 8.1.

Help!

Alter your shortcut to point to C:\MatrixGames\Steel Panthers World at War\mech.exe this will bypass the autorun menu.

I have already tried to run the "mech.exe" directly. It blanks out my screen for around 1 second, then it comes back to the windows explorer where I clicked on it. I just created a shortcut, with the same result. Csreen goes black, monitor clicks, screen comes back to previous state.

I'm guessing you do have a sound card. Try reinstalling the game over itslef. It sounds like something didn't register properly.
