Need help for 5 player test game

I see there are a few 2 player test games going on now, and a few more people waiting for opponents. We need to do a test of the 5 player version of the game. I've set up a game with me playing as China. Could I get 4 of you to join this game. I'm only asking for a 2 turn commitment. You don't have to even really know much about the game, just be able to complete a turn and notice if anything doesn't seem to work correctly. Getting 2 turns in would be a good test case. Don't worry about playing well, and in fact you might try some things you wouldn't otherwise try. Please don't sign up if you won't be able to complete your turn within 1-2 days. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Joel
I picked up Japan.
Btw when you end your turn and its loaded to the server you don't have time to read the report about how many units have been produced or if there were any advances in technology. Have you considered to start the turn loadup after closing the report or when the time to pause it has elapsed?

Does that report show up at all, or does it not allow you to pause the report on the screen before starting the upload? If it doesn't let you pause that report, I agree we should fix it so it waits long enough for you to read it.

It doesn't let you pause it. The way it works is that the report shows up for a few seconds and if you don't pause it it closes, but with the new Pbem++ I haven't been able to do so because the upload message shows up the moment you hit the end turn button.

I second this. It would be great to see the Allies report screen and have the opportunity to process it. In my game with Rafael I'm now producing enough that I need to scroll down to see the end of the report. So I'm missing useful information entirely.

I've asked Karl to look into that and hopefully we can delay the upload until after the screen is read.
Still looking for 2 other players to sign up to help us test the 5 player MP. You really don't need to do much as part of this test as it's just going to be a 2 turn test to make sure the system is working with 5 players.

Hi Joel. I'll contact some old players and check if they want to help and join the game.

Looks like we finally have 5 for this game. Just thought I'd let everyone know I'm out tomorrow and Thursday PST. But I will be making regular turns once I'm back in on Friday.

I'm back. Russia has played her turn. Is there a way to send messages to your allies? I can't see how to do it. I'd like to be able to tell my allies what my spies have learned, where the Axis navy is, etc. Also later to plan joint offensives and the like. And to beg for D-day.

We're looking at adding a messaging system of some kind. We had a way in WitW to send messages to all or to just those on your side, not sure what will ultimately get added.

Joel there was a load in view mode button in v1.04 so players could look at the turns sent to their opponents.
Is it going top be implemented in the new pbem++ system?

No, I don't think that is possible with the PBEM++ system.
BTW, we made it through the 2 turns and Karl has since added in a messaging system and addressed the 1 or 2 reported issues. The work to add the final few bits of artwork needed is just starting. I can see there are several test games that have made it through a number of turns and at least 1 was completed (IIRC I think that was you Rafael). Once these last changes are made and we get a new version to try out, we will probably try to continue this game and/or start a new one to final test the messaging. Not sure how long it will take to get the artwork and install it, but none of it should be an obstacle to finishing this up. Thanks to those that have helped so far in the testing, especially Rafael who has been in several test games.

Hi Joel
Taking advantage that Karl is working on the game there are a few things that if they could be fixed would be great.
The replay VCR if you remember there were time that did not show up properly, this happens randomly and I have no idea why.
There is a bug in Port to Port rebase that allows you to rebase your fleets to more than just one port, specifically in the Pacific.
If you alt tab even in Window mode the game will freeze after a while. It happened to me in my game with Tim Carter and now there is no option to reload from scratch. What happened is that the movement phase was lost. When I reloaded the game to try to continue it showed the production phase, when I pressed the end phase button iirc it went back to movement phase but movement was not allowed, I think it showed illegal movement every time I tried to move a unit, then when I pressed again the end phase button I had no problems with the production phase.
As a side note that lack of action for that turn made me lose the game which doesn't take away any merit from Tim who played superbly.
