Infantry engages armor with small arms?

My AT squad sometimes only engages BTRs with their rifles and refuses to use their LAWs (they have ammo), any ideas why?

It is hard to see, but it could be that target was too far for LAW.

The engagement range is set to effective.

Interesting, but is there any way to disable small arms against armored targets? It doesn't do anything other than give your position away.

It's not possible. Small arms fire can cause light damage and make the vehicle button up.

Best way is to set maximum engagement range to 200-250m.

There are hold(fire) buttons in the SOP tab. When my infantry units have no weapons that can take out armour, I activate them. Then they stop shooting. I always do this with recce units to stop them giving away their position. This works very well. They will hold fire until they are discovered, usually by the enemy literally tripping over them.
