Is there a way to keep the SC series games from changing my desktop display when playing?

I don't have this problem with any other games? Using a dual monitor this causes a lot of problems!

I have a dual monitor set-up too, and I've never had any desktop display issues. [&:]

Perhaps a fuller description of what is happening would help.

What is your desktop display and your game display? Are they the same? Mine are not. My desktop display is 2560x1440. I use game display of 1680x1050 because 2560x1440 is way too small without the ability to have any zoom levels. You?

Hi Tanaka,

I too use a dual monitor without issue but perhaps the problem is the difference in your desktop display to that of your game display as you've noted. I don't think there is much I can do here as the game uses a third party library to handle this and from my understanding this has always been how Windows handles the display resolution change, but perhaps not if you are not having the issue with other games.

I can look into it but it is doubtful (unfortunately) that I'll be able to amend anything here for a more optimal experience on your end.

Hi Hubert would a simple fix not be to add extra zoom levels then?

Hi Tanaka,

Forgive me but I'm not sure what the zoom levels issue is? Do you mean the ability to zoom the map in game? If so this should work for all game play resolutions etc.

So at my desktop resolution of 2560X1440 everything is too small to see in game and I cannot zoom in further. But if I could zoom further that would fix the problem without having to have two different resolutions. Also I can confirm that changing my game resolution to match my desktop resolution of 2560x1440 fixes the problem of the game resetting my desktop display to game display.

Thanks and I see what you mean now... unfortunately an additional zoom level is not option, due to the initial 2D development design decisions made very early on, at this point of the game.
