How to track unit Integrity

I am playing sino-vietnam, excellent scn. imho btw.
So, as the Viets, I KNOW I have lost C&C ergo integrity necessary, for example, my arty firing in defense of its div. inf units being attacked.
The Div. unit only highlights its Div. org. units; AAA, AT, Arty and Eng. It doesn't highlight its inf. regts.
If you've played the scn. you'll understand how that, lets say, opens the door to some confusion.
Is there a way that I can edit to making them highlight , b)print out a hard copy , c) find a soft way to copy the toe of each div.?

ok, figured it out, of course it was right under my nose, but it would be nice of the whole Div. lit up, even if it was just by selecting the Div. HQ.....

let me know if this what you mean, if so, I think I can zip the tiles you need to make it like this. What it is, is a subset of Telumar's grafx mod--I figured out which teiles to use from that, and I use just a very small set of his full mod to make it like this.

Hi Hellen, I'd certainly like a copy of that mod, if you could post it here!

I think this should do it, it is zip file of the modded tiles that I have in my grafx override folder. PS: I believe this set has both the background that is "blue" like (instead of default green, the blue is easier on my eyes) plus it has the modded broken bridges tiles, broken rail tiles, that is easier for me to see) and I tried to pick out the highlighted unit things but I could not remember which ones those are .... anyway, unzip and put these into the Graphics Override folder (in the root) anyway, this is what works for me, I like it better than the default and if it not work I will try to figure out how to do this. PS: this is a subset of the Telumar grafx "best both worlds" that is discussed in this thread

Awesome, hopefully I can figure out how to install it. I tried the "best of both worlds" mod but didn't like something in it (don't remember what), so uninstalled it. Hopefully this one will have all the parts I like!

The files in the zip file just go into the graphics override folder.
If you already have modified files there, I would suggest moving them to a temporary folder space, try these, then you can easily revert.
All it does it make the some of green backgrounds an easier on the eyes softer blue, and I also used Telemar's busted bridge and broken railroad, and also it highlights the units like above.
Still retains the TOAW style map etc. .... I found Telumars' "bright" background too hard on my eyes, so I just grabbed which tiles I really really liked and still kept the default map style. Okay, well, I hope it works ok for you ....

PS be aware that Telumars's full mod in that thread I mentioned changes a lot more than what I zipped in the file above. The file above is only the parts of Telumars's mod that I liked, and it includes that heavy formation highlight, broken bridge, broken rail, and the soft blue background in some of the panels and menu backgrounds.

Well, I'm not sure exactly how it works, you would have to ask Telumar. As far as I can tell, it just replaces the default highlight scheme (which highlighted just the selected unit with a yellow circle, and the rest of units in same formation with hard to see gray circle)
This (Telemars) mod, one red highlights the selected unit, and the gold highlights are for the other units that are in the selected unit's same formation. I think I said that right ... I do know that there are some scenes that split a "formation" into two or three "sub formations" (I think Russo-German War did that for Russians) maybe this scene does a similar thing? Not sure, I have not played that other scene, but I am pretty sure that is what's happening.
Anyway, select a unit, then press F key for Formation Report for that selected unit....those are ones highlighted.

It highlights a formation. Obviously, the Vietnamese divisions are in more than one formation.

I guess my bias from other game systems has followed me here.
The TOAW definition and mechanics of 'units' 'formations' etc. is different and I am not understanding it apparently.
The Chinese units in that div. all have as part of their counter name- the div., example- that div. I highlighted, the 122nd.
The inf. units are all named after their parent div. down to the Bn. In this case; "Army Div.122 1stbn/364thinf"
The viets naming is simply by Regt. and Bn, example- InfRegt.462 7th Bn. This unit is nestled under and belongs to the 338th Inf Div. in the OOB but it apparently doesn't follow that highlighting the Div Hq will highlight its subordinate units not named 'Div 338' etc. like the arty AA recon units are ....

Also, if you have a stack of units, the stack might contain units from different formations ... so you might have to click through the stack to see which others it goes with ... click through such a stack, and you will see the highlight changing, as shown below: I hope this helps! The UFO's ... Units, Formations and Orders of Battle.
Select a unit and hit 'F', that will bring up the Formation that the Unit is in. Hit the Next Formation Button, and this way you can scroll thru the entire on-map OOB. This will give you a better idea as to what type of unit organization you have to play with.
Hit 'O' and the Order of Battle will be brought up. This has little to do with organization but is one way to view the OOB or search for units.

Bottom is same screen, but 8th Panzer Div. HIGHLIGHTED ....
while the 8th Panz. combat engineer is the unit SELECTED (red highlight)
Same stack ... but their different Divisions are highlighted.
I hope this helps!!

Yes, and the OOB screen, you can sort it by clicking on the "Unit Icon" white label, and it will put all the tanks, inf., engineers etc all grouped together so you can quickly go to, nearest engineer .... click the units "tag" over on the left, and then press "5" on the numpad, and the map will then center on that unit.
Don't be scrolling around a map looking for units or cities etc.....learn how to used the short cuts (like pressing "B" key and then typing in city name like Leningrad or Odessa or any name that is on a map ... and the map goes there bingo. Also, you can type B and type in a hex location ... e.g. I know that around 250,350 on FitE2 is Caucasus ... I don't scroll the map unless I absolutely have to. I just type city name or hex location where i want to go. saves LOTS of time.

It's all up to the scenario designer. If he wants the entire division in one formation he puts all that division's units in one formation. If he wants separate formations for regiments, he makes each regiment a formation.
