Sam,

Is this all comprehensive? I am currently running version 3.0.2

Is there or was there any higher versions? Reason I ask is I see this is 04.02.00.00 beta?

This is the latest version. It completely replaces previous versions.

The biggest difference from the more recent versions is that it was compiled using Delphi 10.3. For that reason, it includes a new set of BPL files (DLL files). All future Hot Patches will require that this version to have been installed.

It didn't work for me. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until this...

I just checked and the current version still runs. It's on my hard drive (F), as Windows 10 is on my SSD (C). I don't think I've updated MWiF since I installed Windows 10. I hope this info helps.

Try this

After extracting the update from the zip file into a temporary location. Right click on the executable and select Run As Administrator.

Hi all....

I am getting a Chrome security warning when I try to download the patch, "...can't be downloaded securely". Never had this with a Matrix game update previously.

I got the same thing. I just overrode it.

I guess it's no biggie but I'm getting this message every time I open MWiF with this latest version. In previous versions I got this message only once, which was the first time I ran that new version.

From what I understand this is a Windows 10 User Account Control setting, which can only be change for every program if I want to stop it. Not somehow configured for MWiF only.

Anyone else seeing this?

I decided to download and install despite all the warnings. Now I get a "Unable to access Seeking Opponent database" error when trying to access NetPlay.

Is there a fix coming, or should I be considering uninstalling and reinstalling to the previous patch level?

It looks like maybe your copy of NetPlayReg.txt was changed (somehow). That is the file that MWIF uses to supply your user name and password to Slitherine's private World in Flames NetPlay server.

Ok, thanks. It worked the last time I launched the game prior to the upgrade and doesn't work the first time I launched the game after applying the upgrade. The only thing that changed between working and not working was the upgrade.

What's my next step?

Figured it out - I forgot that I had updated my Matrix password a couple of days ago. I updated the NetPlayReg.txt file with my new password and all is working as expected.

This issue was therefore not due to the upgrade, although I am getting the same "User Account Control" warning as others have noted here. I even tried running the app as administrator, but that didn't change anything.

Hi everyone,

We updated some of the download links which should no longer cause your browsers to consider them non-secure. We've also had our production team reach out to those in this thread who were having install issues requiring manual admin rights and errors with creating uninstalls. If you received such an e-mail or PM, please respond and help our production team. The last issue with the opponents database seems to have been a local system issue and is not on our radar.

Let me know if you have any further issues.

Regards,

- Erik
