I would be interested in playing this game in multiplayer. I have a newer solid PC. When I played the original (Battlefront?) WW1 game that is was pretty slow. I've read some reviews that say the same. What are people experience with MP game speed?

It's a turn-based game, so there is no speed problem. Multiplayer uses the PBEM++ system, using the Slitherine/Matrix server to store game turns.

I was also looking at buying the game and remember speed issues with the original (classic) game

So that makes sense the speed issue (if there is one) is vs the AI not PBEM
