FITE2 (discrepancies)

Okay discrepancies maybe too harsh of a word but here is what I see as confusion.
There are at least four (4) versions that I know of:
FITE2 version 1.4 *
(ships with the game and lives in the Custom graphics folder)
Files included in the game (check the default Graphics Override folder):
39 items plus a folder, this is the 1.4 version that ships with the game and is obsolete, there are other confusing folders and scenarios in the default installation directory that show multiple versions, in my opinion, they should all be pruned and only the most recent updated file should be present to reduce redundancy and confusion).
FITE2 version 1.9 *
(can be found in the Excel spreadsheet from Larry)
Files included in zip:
FITE2 Short Briefing 2_ny.doc
FITE2.eqp
FITE.sce
FITE2 version 1.8 *
(can't recall now where I got this)
Changes to 1.8.docx
Fite2 Short Briefing.doc
FITE2.eqp
FITE2.sce
FITE 5.0
(Can be found from here: http://www.ac-smolf.dk/fite/develop.htm)
Files included in zip:
Fire in the East v5.0.sce
However you can download the following detailed files from the link:
Axis OOB.doc
Background.doc
Briefing.doc
Soviet OOB.doc
* It appears these are all the same scenario, just different versions (i.e., 1.4 lead to 1.8 and then 1.9, hence 1.4 should be removed from the default game and only 1.9 included, as well as all the other obsolete versions, such as one back up for each of the CFNA series, it just adds redundancy and confusion).
The briefings are also a little confusing, as is what is in each zip file.
FITE2 ver. 1.9, 16. Apr 2020
Scenario Briefing states:
FitE 2 Short Briefing
The short briefing for FitE2 (Fire in the east) is created to provide the essentials on how to play FitE2. It contains events, settings, house rules and information. For further background, please consult the FitE2 manual. For OOB details, timeline, equipment data, consult the relevant spreadsheet, and/or equipment file. At the end of this short briefing, we have compiled some player’s tips.
The "manual" referenced here, must be "FITE2 Short Briefing 2_ny.doc" which comes in the zip file.
So my research indicates that all the files are created by the same groups of folks more or less. And here is the history:
Fire in the East 5.0 was the 'granddaddy' of the series.
FITE2 version 1.4 shipped with TOAW IV (assuming...)
FITE2 version 1.8 was created in 2019 and is downloaded from here (assuming...)
FITE2 version 1.9 was created in 2020 and is downloaded from here (fact).
Hope that clears that up, no?
