A sale? My wishlist is ready (and long [:D] )
I hope there will be a discount for war in the west, Decisive campaigns, Flashpoint campaigns, piercing fortress and maybe the one or other dlc ^^

I am thinking of a couple of Slitherine games but my computer can't handle Panzer Corps II.

It was pretty but very "meh". I know its apples and oranges but I bought Warplan at the same time and enjoyed it much more. Ive just never been a fan of the puzzle style of Panzer General gameplay.

Plus the installer is optimized for Steam or something because its takes hours to install and patch it.

Looking forward to this years options. I'm definitely going to buy something, not certain what at this point.

I want to stay away from steam. For some reason, this computer won't finish the installation and I do not want to turn off my antivirus. Hex maps don't bother me. But what do you mean by puzzle style of gameplay?

If you just can't wait for the Matrix sale :), the games are on sale as part of the Steam Black Friday sale that started today.

Same here, several titles i had my eyes on but alas, my puter would not like it, Panzer Corps 2 for sure, or something else from the many.
To upgrade it is not a money issue but it´s sooooo much to configure and tweak with a new PC.
But the sales is on now 12\01 til January 10´th and i got already several new games (WitE, WitW + expansion and CC The Bloody First), first games bought from Matrix\Slitherine since it was that "little" push i needed to become motivated and i will keep my ears and eyes open for more good titles if i see it before the sales time runs out.

I am going to buy a new laptop computer. It is just so confusing with all of the choices out there.

Add one more, i´m on a roll. War in the Pacific AE at 80% discount. I saw that, as usual, the AI can with some experience be a pushover if you learn how to play it right but that´s no news in any game. The same all over.

But i also saw one video with warships more graphically engage as well as in the air in some combat as well and i couldn´t fight my inner no voice any longer.
That´s what i feel is missing a little in both of the WitW and WitE games, just a little graphics to show the battles in both of those games would make a huge difference for otherwise accurate and immersive strategic games.

Anyone want to watch the games played it´s on YouTube and it´s there in several channels and clips, just search for the specific game there.

EDIT: Distant Worlds also, discounted with 75% and i can´t straight up convert crowns into dollars.
But five games now and i got the latest one since it´s got graphics, good reviews and seems to be more easy going than pure strategic games.
GG´s (Gary Grigsby) games i will have to digest proportionally in time.

In Swedish crowns i believe it was around 1000 for the five plus one expansion for WitW, a currency converter tells me that comes to 117.55 USD.
Close Combat The Bloody First
GG´s War in the East and War in the West + the expansion.
GG´s War in the Pacific
Distant Worlds Universe

And another one but this is getting out of control, gambling sites lets you block yourself out if it gets out of hand.
Shadow Empires smallest discount of all of the ones i got so far but i can take a guess there´s a reason for it "just" being 20% off the original price?
It´s good, i hope.

If money is a problem, then look up for some used ones. What used to be a high end computer 5 years ago, still goes strong enough for wargames. I had a desktop packing Core i5-2500K, 8 GB of RAM, and GeForce GTX 580 (cost around 1000 € new) running HBS BATTLETECH and Project Cars 2 well enough. I expect used laptop equivalent with Win10 and some testing by tech personnel would go around 400 €/$.

If you wonder what happened to my old junk: GTX 580 started to malfunction, I replaced it with GTX 1660 Super, and this is still in the game. I'm typing this with it and do most of the gaming as well.

Well, I am not looking at high end graphics since I don't play those first person shooter games.

I bought a Dell Inspiron 5 five years ago but it has no working battery so it runs on one third speed with 4 gigs of RAM. I probably need a new power supply as well. Both of those from Dell are $200 together. I am also having problems with the keyboard. I want a portable computer in case I go back into a hospital then nursing home again for any length of time.

Right now, the most intensive CPU game that I play is WITP:AE.

I'm building another computer. Damn scalpers bought up all the graphics cards. Every website I have visited has said it is not a good value to upgrade my 980 TI. So, that's going in the new computer.
