How do you deploy units in a built scenario so they stay where they are put rather than stacking them up on the half way line for the player to deploy? it must be possible as the standard scenarios have fixed deployments.

In the Mission Editor deployment mode you can right-click and 'lock' the formations.
In the upcoming patch there will be a more sophisticated auto-deploy feature for the player side in generated battles.

Im sorry to say that locking units after you have deployed them just does not work. I save the deployment after locking each HQ and when i reopen the scenario the deployment has all gone. Im trying to put another scenario together that requires pre deployment but it isnt working. Can you help further?
regards
Jason

You have to place and lock formations, not individual units.

Yes i realise that the HQs can be locked but in this case it is not working.

Locking the formations in the Mission Editor.
In the setup phase you can see the white lock icons next to the formation flags. In this case the unit locations are not 100% identical, but can be improved in the Mission Editor by moving the formations around a bit.
