[1.05 b14] Air recon mission sound effects

The game plays weapon shooting sound effects during air recon missions, but the planes don't actually fire during them, do they? At least I'm not seeing their ammo go down after air recon.
When you launch an air recon mission on a tile that has no enemy units, it will play many sound effects at once, which is a bit jarring. Like, it's three sound effects at once when I press "next turn".

Also there is an explosion effect on the destination hex which i think is out of place too because it is not a bombing run, but i guess it runs like a combat round and that is why its there for now i guess.
I would like to see in the game in the future, hear some sfx pertaining to type engine an aircraft has for recon or attack etc has, Combat Mission Shock Force 2 has air units for example you cannot see the aircraft but hear it approach and loiter in the air (with some radio informing player what he is doing) and its sound fades away as it leaves the area, something like that would be immersive.

I agree that the explosion initiating the recon mission is out of place, but yeah it's using the combat system, so it's not too crazy.

Consider this changed in beta16.

I wanna mention/recap a bunch of minor issues here:
1) During air recon missions, you will hear attack sounds, like machine gun fire and bombs exploding, despite no actual combat happening. This always confuses me a little, making me think I had the wrong mission type selected. I'd suggest maybe playing some airplane movement woosh sounds here instead.
2) Initiating an air recon mission still displays the initial explosion graphic on the tile.
3) Initiating an air recon mission on a tile that has no enemy causes 3-4 sounds to play simultaneously.
4) If you have the recon mission action active and you right click an enemy, if you then click on the "swap" button to switch to an air strike instead of the recon mission, then the initial explosion sound effect won't play even though it should.
5) The sound effect for moving helicopters is really long. Should probably be shortened a little.
6) This medium airplane is missing the propeller graphic for some reason (maybe too long?):

7) Having an air bridge causes the "birds are in the sky" sound effect to play when your next turn starts.
8) When you right click a tile to target for an airbridge, it will give it an A. If you now right click somewhere else, instead of removing the old A and putting a new A at the new location, it will just make the old A invisible and create a B at the new location. You have to double right click the old tile to properly remove the A air bridge. It's almost like you're creating lots of additional invisible air bridges like this. No idea if this is a severe bug behind the scenes or if it's just a minor display bug.
9) Air bridge logistics don't show up in the preview overlay.
10) Air bridge logistics aren't mentioned in the traffic sign screen.
11) In the description of the Rocketry tech it needs to be added that it also unlocks air-to-surface rockets.
12) I'm guessing the Missiles tech unlocks air-to-air missiles? If yes, then to their description it should be added that they do that.
Edit: Expanded this list a lot.

Hi Thanks for keeping on it.
1. fixing that for next build
2. that will stay. its the standard animation for any battle (even if no opponents)
3. could not replicate that one. if you have savefile with instructions how to do that please send it over to me
4. fixing that for next build.
5. you are right. but all the sound is in the first seconds only.
6. interesting. would really like this savefile as well!!
7. fixed for next build.
8. functioning as intended. wanted to keep the letter & hex combi consistent. Especially useful if existing bridges get cancelled.
9. True. But their target (and source) hex does show the arriving (and departing) points.
10. True.
11+12. Tricky as people might play without air forces as well.
Time is always of the essence so I am trying to focus on your "best" points
best wishes,
Vic

For 3 and 6 you can use the save game that I just sent to you with the email "Shadow Empire: Raise formation logistics", it's the same one.
3) Make sure you have "Auto Combat" turned off, then click on any aircraft, for example there's a bunch on Salzburg in the west, right click any tile in your own territory for an air recon mission, you can assign additional aircraft, but don't need to, and then just click on "next round" in the combat screen.
When I do it, what I get is the "birds are in the sky" sound effect with double volume, a machinegun or explosion sound effect and also the "whisky tango foxtrot" sound effect. All simultaneously.
If it doesn't work for you, I could try recording a video.
6) The medium airplane without a graphical propeller is the Trailblazer, under tactical bombers.
11+12. Tricky as people might play without air forces as well.
That's a fair point. I didn't consider it. But I'd say that giving people the information is more important than having non-air players read about air equipment. It affects the decisionmaking while choosing technologies after all.

I would like to add that, at least for me, i do not hear any flying sound effect when doing a recon mission like you do if you 'move' your plane to another air base (i think it should use the same flying sfx as when you move- i presume there will be a different sound for each type of aircraft prop/jet/rocket?) I only hear the 'Birds in the sky' clip along with another clip at the same time as already mentioned at the end of the recon run as per norm. I do not hear any combat sounds but that might be because i forgo any weapons altogether for my recon planes thinking it might more range (although that might not matter?)

It plays the sound of whatever weaponry you have on the aircraft, so not having any will probably play nothing.
Not having weapons does increase the range of the plane, as it will have less weight that way.
