Recovered fleets

If you allow me a suggestion, it is on a naval issue too.
Would it be a good idea for recovered fleets from invaded countries to retain the damage received when they appear in the deployment queue?
Maybe it would make the French fleet less kamikaze, and more attractive to bomb enemy fleets of countries that we are going to invade.
I don't know if it's possible, but it seems logical.

Hi,

Concerning Vichy, I agree that to have a Vichy Fleet closer to what is actually left (with their names etc.[:)]) would be better. Maybe reduced by one BB or CA to reflect Mer El Kebir?

Since the fleet will often go to the Allies, as the German will eventually invade in most games, the 1940 Allies will then have an actual incentive to not waste that fleet. And who knows, we might actually see the Richelieu in game latter instead of just having it makes a 1-2 turns appearance and got back to the virtual counter tray.

But if I may, I would also suggest some consequences is Vichy is invaded after a deal has been made. Because right now, the best way to conquer all of France is actually to… do Vichy!

1) You lose a turn, but you get rid of the French army or an overall faster conquest probably.
2) North Africa becomes neutral, so no need to worry about UK units there. And you can take it latter in 40 or 41.
3) If the French fleet ran for safety (some players try to save it!), it is reduced in size and come back within bomber range.

So the safest and fastest thing to do to take all of France and eventually North Africa is to do Vichy and betray your word two weeks later. Some games forbid until a latter date (AETO was until next January for example).
I would still allow it, but with some consequence. If the Axis shows the world they can not be trusted beyond a few weeks, maybe the US and USSR entry level could increase? At least there would be aa consequence in extra US and USSR PPs?
