here are a few of the planes I think deserve special attention...
- that Japanese Val with 3 tac. It's the best they have for a long long time
- stukas - always stukas
- any NAV with 21 range or more. The japanese H8K has saved my butt more times than I can remember by reacting straight to the 4 box.
- The He 100 is a severe nuisance for the allies in the med as it can reach the 2 box when few decent fighters can
- the Do 217 K - I always build it, and if possible advance build it. decent range plus 5 naval air? = boom
- Typhoons... sheesh talk about all rounders
- the one and only ten-range Soviet fighter
- and of course 17 range Soviet strats that fly miles away from the front while other the rest of the Red Air Force is crushed under tank treads

any more out there?

The Soviet TB-3's are my favorite planes. 11 range, a great TAC and STR plane and you can use it for ATR too...

I like the hurricanes, they become some nice ground support planes.

The Black Widow. A range 20 fighter, with a five ground strike.

Any non-US early war day fighter with a range of at least 7. And yes, I am looking at you, Indian Buffalo. Tremendous help in the Med.

I love the Beaufighters - but that may be something to do with the fact that these beautiful aircraft were simply sex on a stick.
