Just got the program and am learning. Tried computer vs computer on a scenario that worked fine other than not being able to pause it to change variables. However, the Sam Huntng scenario would not. Is it me or the program?
Thanks

Can you describe what happened?

IN both setups, I set the AI to Computer for both sides(A and B). Game started, went from turn to turn without either side moving until game end at turn 15.

Yeah Jason, John here.
Same happened to me. Set it to computer versus computer and neither side moves. It ran through all 15 turns w/o doing anything. However reinforcements did arrive but did not move. Also I noted in the front end turn notes that Egyptian units were released.
This is weird, never saw that happen in JTCS but to be honest I never tried computer versus computer in CSME until now.

Big Ivan

Ah yes, that scenario isn't scripted, so the AI doesn't know what to do.
With the next CSME Update, all of the standard scenarios will be updated with scripting, as it will be brought to the current with CS Vietnam standards

Thanks guys for the response. I seem to have a talent for running into bugs in programs. There are so many variable in these simulations, I like to set them up and let the computers bash each other and see how they compare to historical events. I believe the 67 war was the first introduction of the rpg on the battlefield? We just started getting hit by them in Vietnam in 68 when I was there. I actually captured an RPG with glass optical sites(sights?) rather than the open sites typical of the times(I think). Intelligence snapped that up in a hurry Didn't have much time to look it over:)

You'll definitely want to wait until the next UPDATE to do that, as the scenarios will have the AI Scripted, so you'll see some logical game play. With that version, the AI isn't the swiftest current in the stream, but that is why Vietnam is taking so long as we're completely rebuilding it to make it a much more competitive opponent.
