Axis vs AI Historical feedback

Made my first play through as Axis vs Allied AI at historical settings

Major victory at 27th November 1941

> With the ports fix, no supply issues, although oil ran short sometimes, forcing me to stop the advance for a couple of turns each time.

> The allied AI was very poor:
- not once she tried to make a counter-offensive or cut my forces off supply
- Tobruk garrison falls too easily (previously noted)
- AI air units rarely attacked my units
- Naval AI did nothing at all.
- overran 3 air units left stranded.
- very poor at defence also, as the main AI move was to retreat to the next VP.

I know I should try with higher settings, but the issue does not seem to be need of higher experience or better logistics, but lack os some scripts ?

Cheers

N.A. Campaign didn't get a lot of testing from players. It uses the internal A.I. Also from what I understand you are an excellent player.

So yea you can expect to beat it at historical levels.

Scripting can help but I need specifics on what it did or didn't do in what situation. It's like solving chess moves for a particular trap so they don't fall for it again.

Just played a mirror match against the AI and won both easily.

This a great scenario to learn the game and is definitely better played against a human opponent.

The Allied AI left Tobruk too weak and could continuously be cut off as it retreated back to El Alamein, and so by the time it got there, I had destroyed over 90% of it's forces, so Alexandria and Cairo were sitting ducks.

In my game against the Axis AI, I was able to pull back and form a solid Gazala defensive line in May 1941 (by rushing all Eastern based units forward using rail to help), that completely repulsed the Axis AI from ever reaching Tobruk. The AI also let me trap both the 21st and 15th Panzer divisions!:

Great game and great scenario, but as Alvaro has said, it is difficult to program a strong AI given the complexity of the game, which I love because it is the perfect balance )fo me at least) between TOAW, and the Strategic Command series.

I can't wait for WarPlan Pacific to come out!!! [:D]
