I am using it but I am doing Robinson Caruso but my armies are well supplied even out to 15 or 20 hexes in Normal terrain forest and mountains still a bottle neck but ya it is easier.

I only use the easy supply setting because with it the amount of time i need to spend thinking about supply is minimal, as long as you cover the very basics: you need some truck stations (as you start fielding tanks and more armies, youll eventually need rails as well) and youre good quite a bit away from your nearest city, about 5-10 hexes from the road.
So expanding into wilderness requires you to do some roadbuilding, and if youre expanding into Major AIs you usually just need to connect your road system to theirs and follow their own road all the way back to their city/capital.

In a Steam guide, zgrssd says that it doubles the capacity and range of logistics assets. I just completed a game campaign with it on, and it did seem to take longer for issues to rise, but they did eventually, so the double cap and range sounds correct.
