I know it has been asked before, but once the Pacific comes out, will there be any plans for a global version? Its the only thing holding me and my buddies from really switching over from SC.
thanks

So the 3rd installment would be Global...
What features will be added into Global, I wonder... Really curious...

The main concept is the WarPlan engine but units will be build from smaller units. BUT this doesn't mean micromanagement.
Corps/Armies from divisons
Fleets will be single capital ships
Air units will be groups of air wings (~100 planes)
But it will be easy to do.
Using the WarPlan combat system. Other improvements also but I can't give you a concrete list.

Wow that's interesting!
If every units get smaller, meaning the hex will be smaller in scale also?
And the stacking of just one land, one air, and one sea, will still applies?

I got SC global....I played it a number of times..but just went back to playing SC war in Europe. I really hated the the squeezed in feel the map had...If everything was on the same scale as was the war in Europe im sure i would of loved it. Im also enjoying warplan in Europe and the pacific version would be good. But if a Global war comes out the only way it would get my attention is if the scale is the same size as war in europe..which would give us a pretty big map which i have no issues with that. SC global the map area was the same as Europe but scaled down and it just didnt feel right

Here is the deal.... you think you want the Pacific on Euro-scale... You don't. The game would be unplayable. The Pacific is 4x the size of Europe at a 25m scale.
To put this in perspective I will have a Solomons Campaigns series of smaller scenarios in Pacific. Just that map is 40% the size of all of Europe because it is a 25m scale.
Next is that the the whole map will have to be expanded. This means the A.I. will have a decision area that is 8-10x the area. A.I. will take forever.
Hubert had an issue with A.I. on the Europe scale thus why his Global is smaller in scope and he understood a game on Euro level is just unplayable.
Very likely WarPlan Global will be a split scale game. 25m Euro as it is now, 50m Pacific. The 50m Pacific is very playable and VERY fun. The Alpha testers are loving it. It is the same scale as WitP.

Cool....Perhaps it would be possible to have a global game where instead of having one continious map it it could be split as in abit like when you want to send units to the middle east you send them to a transit exit point two turns latter they are in the Med...So in that way is it possible to have the bigger map if its broken down abit?

Yup. If you played World In Flames the board game it would be similar.
Scales are so far different and it is hard to compute so some abstractions are absolutely required.
Like it took just a week to go from Japan to Pearl Harbor for the attack.
it took I think 4 weeks for a convoy to go around the horn of Africa. You just can't put these in games. It would over complicate things in a 2 week turn based game.

Split scale map with transit areas should feasible...
But how's the unit stacking when transiting between these two scales?
How's the presentation would be like?
