How to get latest beta on steam?

I know where to select it but it requires some kind of code to access. How can I get it to try the latest beta?

On Steam -> Properties -> Beta and select "Open Beta" from the list and then press "Close" in the bottom. No code input needed, leave empty that box. Should update your game with the open beta.

Note that the latest beta and patch will always be delayed compared to the forum. This is simply the time it takes steam to process that there is a new beta/version of the programm.

That might not necessarily be true. The current beta was released pretty much simultaneously on both platforms, as far as I could tell.
