New Players

I've gone through a couple of the tutorials from the forum and think/hope I've got a bit of an idea what's going on!
I'm looking for suggestion for a good starting scenario or two for a friend and I to start playing via PBEM.
We're both used to playing tabletop/board games, but there are so many scenarios to choose from, I wondered if
anyone had a favourite for us to start out with - I guess nothing too big.

Thanks in advance,

You're best bet while your getting to know one another and TOAW too it so do something small. There is Kasserine 43 it's small with player one having 44 units and player two having 70 units.

I have a few smaller ones as well I have been converting as well (found some old TOAW I, II, and III ones that have been neglected over the years).

One is West Front and the other is an East Front one.

The western front one, starting year 1944, 5km per hex, Half day turns, Battalion level, 16 turns, 3 events, side 1 units 41, side 2 units are 25.

The eastern front one, starting year 1942, 2.5km per hex, Half day turns, Battalion level, 8 turns, 9 events, side 1 units 17, side 2 units are 25.

Let me know if you'd like to take then for a test ride or just stick with something stock.

Don

Here's my list of the included scenarios by complexity factor:

Cheers Don & Curtis,

we'll give Kasserine 43 a go and see how we go. Curtis, I saw your list before, it looks really useful, I'll use it to pick our next one - up or down depending on how we get on.
Once we've got a better grasp of it all we can start looking as the scenarios with a better understanding of how they're supposed to play.

Thanks again both,

Kes

You might want to try Highway to Helsinki 1990 as the Soviets. You've got lots of units, engineers, some helicopters, artillery,евен some airborne. It does take some time though,as it has quite a few units, especially on the Soviet side.

I've found Kharkov 43(?) to be nice learning scenario as well. Allows both players offence & defence to work on and can be a real nail-biter against a decent opponent.
