I'm in game. No problems running the game. Decide I want to start a new game. Quit game to main menu. Whenever I try to start a new game after that point it crashes to desktop. Every single time. Restarting steam/game doesn't help. Need to restart PC to get it working again.

With my fickle nature I usually need a few starts before I find a world I would like to play, making this problem slightly effing annoying.

Any ideas where to start looking to fix it?

Please get more info on how it crashes to us...

Not to much info to pass on I'm afraid. No error message involved.
After using 'quit' to exit to main menu from game, I cant start or load a game. Attempting to do so results in the game crashing to desktop without displaying any error messages. (It also seems 'quitting' back to main menu from planet generation seems to cause this instability, but I havnt tried it to much yet)

Restarting the game after a crash (without restarting the PC) does seem to fix the problem sometimes, but 4 out of 5 times it doesnt and the game just crashes again if you try to Load/Start from the main menu.

You might want to check how much memory your PC is using and same for diskspace?

A system instability crash is hard to debug for me to be honest. As you seem to be the only one having it (out of thousands) odds are something is wrong with your system :/
