Now that this is impossible to invade Luxembourg on the first turn for Germany without Belgium going to war.
I would like to come back on the opposite.

Right now, nothing prevents France to declare war against Luxembourg and invade it on the first turn. Such move seems without any consequence on anything even on USA.

I would like to bring back an old idea:

The reason is a "one time" additional boost to the factories fearing German invasion by French units.

Moving French units in Luxembourg is a nice move to counter the invasion of Belgium in one turn later on.

Personally I just don't think it was politically feasible for France to DOW Luxembourg. So I would simply suggest tit for tat. If the Allies Dow Luxembourg, than Belgium joins the Axis. I believe this would stop that nonsense.

I agree with you. France would never have attacked Luxembourg. But, Belgium passing on the Axis side... it's a bit too much too.

But it is a quick way to solve the point. Indeed.

If they do then Belgium doesn't come to the aid of Netherlands

Also if they do it has no real impact on the Battle of France except trapping a Frenchy there

Indeed, I just test it with beta 10U23:

1. First Allies turn, France declares war on Luxembourg.

2. Next turn, Germany declares war on Netherlands.

3. Next turn, Belgium stays neutral.

Just excellent, this is closing my point.

Perhaps, put it in the briefing that Belgium stays neutral if Luxembourg is invaded by allies.

Oh you're right, sorry for the misunderstanding. When I read "Luxembourg has not joined the Axis Powers", I wondered how this could be possible ... of course by an invasion of the Allies ...

If I remember well, in 1.00.09 official patch, this is Netherlands only.

Added if Netherlands is attacked by the Axis Belgium will join the Allies

The beta 10U23 now includes Luxembourg.

Perhaps- Join the Axis yes but no Axis troops enter Belgium unless the Allies attack Belgium directly. Axis player would be able to reposition Belgian units but they would not attack France unless attacked first.

So basically what you are saying is that, if France attacks Luxembourg, this is neutralizing the only access Germany has to attack France. Only remains a frontal assault on the Maginot line.

Sorry but Alvaro's solution is much more elegant. If Luxembourg is invaded by France, Belgium will not support the Netherlands and will remain neutral.
