Hello everybody.

Can someone reminds me the method to change the HQ of my "naval only" assets ?
It's always blocked when I want to do it normally.
I've never understood why the game creators never change this weird rule.

it's either completely locked or there's no similar HQ available to change for

I'm pretty sure you can't change HQ's for Naval-only air groups.

I found an old post from Loki. He sais it is possible. Here is the quotation :

the trick is to put them on an airbase that has the desired target HQ, so for eg move that single naval air from Malta Air to an airbase assigned to the Med naval air command. Since you have a mismatch, the option comes up to assign all air units to the controlling HQ."

I've never found this option.

Ah yes, I remember that now. I marveled at it at the time.

I think you have to have air groups of both HQ's at the base, but if you do, and you look in the air base Assigned tab, click on the "SET AIR GROUP HQ TO..." link, and you get this dialog box:

If I understand your question correctly here we go: Simply change any airbase to the Air Headquarters you wish your naval squadrons to be. Now simply convert your naval squadrons to the desired Air Headquarters. I do this in setting up all my torpedo bombers In UK under (RAF Coast Command) and send my patrol aircraft squadrons to the Mediterranean theater. That naval air HQ is (Coastal Air Force). There are four (Naval Only) level bombers that are also split among the two above mentioned areas. For early set up of game I like to send and keep all my four engine level bombers to England. Two and Three type airbases are abundant. All two engine level bombers I send to Italian campaign to pulverize Sicily ports. This with naval patrol squadrons isolates Sicily and if need be Sardinia and Corsica. I hope this helped you sir and look forward to gaming with you.
