Please make it easier to assign units to a higher HQ. Like select the unit, hit F7 then select stacks to assign to that HQ.

We do have hotkey-g which assigns selected unit to the nearest applicable HQ.

No, that I find doesn't work. Same as the current system. You need to select the HQ then assign units TO that HQ. There is too much random BS when you assign units to the nearest HQ. What I do now is move the HQ onto the unit I want to attach to that HQ. A real pain. Better to select a HQ unit, hit the G key, then select units you want attached to that HQ.

The way you do it at the moment doesn't save any clicks? It's 4 clicks either way:

Select HQ - Move HQ - select Unit - assign to nearest HQ hotkey
vs
Select unit - open unit page - select reassign HQ - select new HQ from pick list

The latter is much better as you don't move the HQ.

The alternate way you suggest would be slightly more efficient (particularly if you are looking to reassign more than one unit to the HQ) and if it is straightforward to program I can see how it could be a slightly better use of that hotkey.

I think you missed my point. Assigning units to a HQ that are "in the line" is a real pain. Selecting the HQ then select the units you want that HQ to command is way easier.
