I keep getting this error and cannot save my turn for my current PBEM. I have deleted to file manually, installed and reinstalled the WITP and still get this error. Any clue?

Lou, this has to be some kind of Windows error. Have you checked to see if you have an update pending?

The first three slots are reserved for the game to use (Autosave, Pre-turn Save, and Post-turn Save not necessarily in that order).

We are using slot 12 and we are in January of 1944, so he knows what he is doing.

Well I got the save file to run on my desktop which is vastly better than my laptop. But the game runs like crap now and everything is highlighted in pink. So its not the save file, something is up with the laptop. I'll check for window updates too. The error reads as a message stating "Unable to delete old save file".

Thanks for every ones help/advice.

Have you installed switches on the game startup shortcut to deal with slow and odd performance? See the Tech section stickied thread on slow performance.

And others have reported difficulty getting laptops to work well even with the shortcut switches installed. The BIOS of laptops is probably different from a desktop and thus Windows will operate differently. I think some solved it by setting their Windows to emulate Vista before playing the game.
