Problem with Air Interdiction of Naval Moves

In a current AAR I had 2 Italian bomber groups (one is off the screen) within range of 3 British invasions in North Africa. All 3 invasions were made by infantry corps only, without any naval escorts and outside enemy fighter range. As far I can tell neither of my bombers (which were set to auto) made any attempt to intercept any of these invasions. Is it possible that they did attempt but failed to find the enemy so there is no report? In any event, this is crazy. I had a somewhat similar experience that I posted in my AAR with MM where I am the Allies. I invaded a hex in Italy adjacent to an enemy bomber. In that case the bomber did intercept me, but did no damage. With respect, this is one of the reasons why people are upset with the ease with which invasions can be made.

By the values I can tell they are above 50% effectiveness so that is good.
Weather no issues.
I just tested this exact scenario and the bomber intercepted just fine.
Very likely you had them set to "mission" mode and not support.
The other thing is that those land units aren't going to be able to take out that garrison.
They can get 24 CV vs 5 + 3 (air) is 3:1 discounted 40% (attack) + 20% (entrenchment)

The air unit was set to auto mode; you can see that in the screenshot. You are correct that my garrison is safe. When I did a counter invasion near El Alamein a couple turns later my invading unit was intercepted by his air unit (very unfair). I have no explanation for why my air units did not intercept. Maybe it was just a one time thing.
Perhaps the reason is because I just sea transported the air unit in on my turn prior to the invasion. But I believe it should have reset.

It may be because the combat log does not indicate failed interceptions.

3 of them? It should have interdicted at least 1 of them. It would be INCREDIBLY unlikely to miss all 3.
1 in 1,000 to be exact considering the highest value recon + being a transport fleet.

Failed interceptions could have occurred against other fleets, not against these troop transports.

I keep testing this over and over and I am having no issues vs the exact same scenario.

I can't duplicate it either. I will let you know if it happens again.
