Japan INF replacement

Couple of point that puzzle me.

First I have NEVER seen a unit destroyed in combat replaced.
Not once.

Second,

Mogami keeps talking about Truk as this magical place that makes all ground units better.

I have NEVER seen anything beyond 90% rehabilitation.

Ok so what am I doing wrong?

You can simply ship the replc to the front line or Rabual
to get 90% rehab.

The journey to Truk is NOT free of danger. So it should not be casual. Also..Does Mogami build the Truk BF up to 250+?

Hi, I don't know what happens to your units but when I send a

(60) 140xinf Sqd unit to Truk it becomes a 200xinf Sqd unit.

It is quite possible that you do not understand what he means by shipping units back to Truk.

Units suffering from Fatigue suffer Disruption. Disruption results in parts being Disabled. Extreme Disruption results in Destruction. These parts are no longer disabled, they are destroyed completely.

If you rotate your troops BEFORE they get so badly disrupted that parts are being destroyed, the unit will come back to 100% at Truk which is a non-malaria base (the ONLY Japan base without this huge negative effect!).

If you are waiting too long before rotating them, they will only fix the disabled parts of the unit, the destroyed parts are gone and can not be brought back to life this way. To fix these losses, you have to wait until an actual replacement unit is formed and shipped in to Truk. This unit can be merged back with the parent and will replace losses at the cost of a reduction in experience of the unit (green troops coming into seasoned unit).

Rotating units MUST be an aggressive part of Japan's plans at all times. The Allied side has many bases that act as Truk and can be far more careless with their troops later in the game as they have millions of replacement units coming. Japan's influx of troops comes way to late in the game to mean anything, so if you are tossing away troops for nothing in 1942, you are throwing the game in effect as the 1943 troops are not really going to save you as it is too late by then...
