Problem: Early Italian Entry

1.09. I'm playing as the Allies, standard 39 start for Italy.

Germany launched an early March 1940 invasion of Netherlands. Then were slowed by bad weather for several turns. I assume the invasion of Netherlands and Belgium triggered something and Italy came into the war in May.

I assumed France would fall so I used the French Mediterranean fleet to raid the convoy lane running from Sardinia to Italy. I figured I'd lose the ships any way.

The Italian fleet sortied from Taranto and counterattacked. An attrition battle began and I moved the British Med fleet to Malta. Next turn the Brits attacked and that was it for the Italian fleet.

Either the AI needs to be changed to keep the Italians form sortieing, or it needs to be changed to prevent Italy from joining the war until France is about to fall.

The war in the desert is just beginning in earnest and not having to worry about anything but Italian submarines changes the complexion of the game.

The Netherlands attack script needs to be corrected with the new Benelux changes.

The Italians should never be in the war until Paris falls. Which scenario did you play?

I adjusted the scripts. The Allies can DOW anytime though. I am thinking about a solution to them doing so.
