I want to ask a clarifying question about the following statement from faq:

Yes, the hulls are researchable as construction research projects, but there are multiple variant hulls per role.

Is each roll a separate research project?

As far as I could tell from the screenshots, no.

Edit: I think I'd rather not have them be anyhow.

In some cases this is true, but usually one project provides several variants.
