Wite versions

I just arranged a game (I'm Soviet). I have 1.12.05 Beta. He has 1.11.03. Does one of us have to change versions? Sorry for what may be a dumb question but all I ever did on computers were spreadsheets.

both have to use the same version for MP games

OK, my opponent upgraded to what he said was my version. He after he upgraded, he opened the file, took his first turn and emailed to me. When I try to open the game a little window opens and says "Requires newer patch." I found a reference to go to My Page on the Matrix site. Went there and couldn't find anything. I apparently didn't register my game years ago back then so while I could log in, Nothing there.
Any help?
