I ocassionally have the issue that the Automatic Ship Designer will just not add Hyperdrives to ships.
When this happens, the game totally forgets to create Colony and Passenger transports as well.

My best idea is that some technology is missing, breaking the Ship designs in a way that models with hyperdrive are invalid?

Does anybody have an idea where the issue is? And thus how to avoid it in the future?

Must be something to do with the design policy settings. Check the policy screen either change it to default or check in the design section to see if any changes have been made.

Somehow Ship Design Automation had turned itself off in the main options. Dangit...

this has happened to me i swear for 5 years every time i come back to distant worlds it happens and i sit there scratching my head for 20 minutes till i figure it out.
