Apparently each game Subforum on this Forum has their own limits how many files and how large a file you are allowed to upload.

The Forums General Discussion allows 3 Files of 750 KiB
The Distant Worlds 2 Forum allows one size of 9999 KiB upload (that is >9,7 MiB).

If you make a ingame screenshot at 2560x1440 resolution, it is impossible to stay below the current 200 KiB limit. And trying to resize the file with paint seems to result in a worse compression (apparently paints JPEG encoder is bad).

The average savegame beats that target by an order of magnitude, nevermind the part where we can not upload them at all due to the extension.

Or - and that is just a idea - Vic changes a integer from 200 to 4000. Maybe 4096.
And another integer from a 1 to a 3.

Unless those constraints are actually imposed by the Matrix Forum Admin, I see no reason why they should be so low.
And if they are limited by the outside, Vic could at least use them.

Yeah, what is the point of having a tech support forum if I'm just going to be emailing my bug reports with savegames and screenshots to Vic anyway? Keeping track of bugs for other players and the developer? Most players won't care.

Until this issue is fixed, I recommend using software like Gimp or Paint.net, which allow you to not only resize a picture, but also set a custom compression for jpegs :

P.S.: Outside image hosts tend to die at a different time than the forums, which can become very annoying when whole AARs or tutorials are suddenly rendered useless without their pictures.
P.P.S : Yes, I know how ironic it is that I'm using an outside picture myself.

Or worse (maybe) ten years later all your post images have a huge watermark.

That is one of the first AAR's I ever did for a game called AI-War. At least the images still survive in some form. Imagine it without any at all...

Wow, What a great guide, and a tragedy. That is certainly a warning to anyone investing the time into something like that.

I just revived this to point out: It happened.

File Upload Sizes are now 10 MiB per Attachment.

And as with Distant Worlds 2, it only required recreating it from scratch in a completely new engine to make it happen
