Scenario Suggestion: Battle of the Behemoths

Here is an idea for a scenario that I hope someone will put together:
12/49
Location: the final bastion of the Third Reich
Forces: Mixed German KG with, say, 4 to 6 Tiger Maus vs mixed U.S. battle force with the same number of 105 GMC T95s.
Could be fun!

Only prob I see if a Maus/T95 fight is that it's unbalanced towards the Germans. The 128mm seems to be a better tankbuster than the 105mm (from superheavyweight quick-battles I've done), and mobility kills will favour the turreted Maus rather than the T95 Assault Gun. Add in other units, and it shows a little more imbalance: the T95 only carries the 105 and a .50 cal MG, versus the 128, the 75, the 20mm flak and the 7.63mm MG. Main gun malfunctions or is destroyed, you have a *really* heavily armoured MG track, or a *really* heavily armoured Panther with its own flak. <G>
So, try a "historical" action... the T95 was designed to be a fortification-buster, so break the Siegfried Line (or the West Wall, or whatever). There'll be a good-sized battlegroup to take advantage of the penetration, but a somewhat eclectic defending force (as in THE MAUS THAT ROARED scenario). A bunch of odd things, shootin'n'scootin', while the promised reinforcements (multiple Maus) come waddling up the road - can the Germans hold out until the blocking force is there, or does the Maus platoon get flanked and swarmed?
This'd be even more fun against a live opponent - allow some player-deployment, and see if you guessed right... was that northern section lightly manned? Were the Americans really going to charge across the bridge?
Arty and air support will be a real killer, tho - the Americans have a helluva lot of it. Personally, I'd set it to lousy weather and disallow air, but the artillery will still be heavy. (Especially since, with a defensive scenario such as I'm babbling about <G>, they'll tend to pound discovered [or suspected] positions into catfood...)
A night attack might be interesting, but I suspect it'd cut down your visibility enough to be less entertaining. ("Creep forward. Creep forward. Creep forward. YEEEEK! Seven engineer squads and a Ranger platoon/an 88mm!")
Ah well... let's see if someone can do anything with this mess. <G> (Hey, I'm just an *idea* man...)

Here ya go! 7.1
The Airfield*
*
A PBEM scenario*
*
Or, play either side vs. the AI.*
*
50x50 map, Forest to the north, Hills to the south, Airfield in the middle.*
*
One might name this scenario "SNIPERS!"*
*
or*
*
"Clash of the Giants!"*
*
Forces are about as balanced as I can get them, I'd say 55 German vs. 45 American*
*
12 turns and the chit hits the fan on turn one*
*
Any chance to get 2 players to post a DAR on this??*

Played Airfield last night as Germans against AI...often difficult to create an exciting battle against the AI, but this one had me going. In your face and tense battle. Sniper City indeed! Presented in 7.1 for a change..thanxs M4

Whee...Jess, where did you get those 'No More!!!!' sounds for americans???
Just kidding.
But it was a real shooting gallery..lost one Maus though

Darn aircraft bagged it. And the mighty T95's...Fw190 got one of them and the flammwagens killed the others!!
Btw, one bug. The M6A1 has zero armour. At least in my game and I have the basic 7.1

Fun scenario!

Just finished this one as Ger vs. AI and had a lot of fun ... the combination of Sturmtiger and Flame halftrack is a potent one! (nuke 'em then fry 'em:D ) he he he. I'll have to send some vehicle recognition charts to the Luftwaffe though, they managed to kill a Maus AND a Jagdtiger

. The M6A1 took me by surprise though ... it looks like a T-55 painted bright flourescent green !!:D . Mebbe some of the Icon artistes working on the new OOB's can correct this ... Thx Jess!

Jess, you have outdone yourself! What a great scenario! Quite a challenge. I managed to kill two of the T95s with my Sturmtigers by hiding them in the woods and opening fire at close range when the beasts came galumphing into site. The other killed one of my Sturmtigers, but got taken out by a FW190.
Those M6A1s got squashed by my king tigers before they could open fire. No wonder they weren't put into production.
