Accidental AI Kamikaze Exploit

I had a British sub raiding the convoy line west of the Philippines that was spotted by a Japanese destroyer. Following that, three Kamikazes attacked from the Philippines getting only one hit. At the same time I had an invasion fleet one turn away to the east.

It seems to me that AI Kamikazes should never attack subs. Google tells me there was a grand total of one case of a U.S. sub being attacked by Kamikazes.

In the editor, would setting Kamikaze attack strength against subs to zero prevent the AI from wasting them this way?

Thanks for the feedback, and just a quick question, was it possible that the Kamikazes only saw your sub and not the rest of your fleet?

Also, setting their strength against subs to zero might not prevent them from attacking this way... I'll take a quick look.

They probably weren't in range of my fleet. So yes, it was probably their only target. But it would be better if the AI would hold for more important targets. The high attack setting against Carriers and Transports make total sense, and should not be wasted.

I agree, however it is just a tricky one for the AI to get right as it doesn't have the same intuition where it might feel like it will have another better chance down the road (with more optimal units) the same way a human player can imagine.

I gotta be honest. This is some funny sh-t just thinking about. Some Jap ramming a sub.
