there was an error in a version of the patch....when it asks which folder to be installed in the patch had a space in between the words MATRIXGAMES when there shouldn't be one.
SO...try re-installing the patch and when it asks which folder to go into be sure to go in and take the space out of there and it should work fine.

The reply is part of the way there, but not complete. Does not matter if there is or isn't a space between the words "Matrix" and "Games", what matters is if the path for installation of the patch - or antyhing else for that matter - MATCHES what is already there.
My installation has the space, I make sure the path is correct before shoveling anything. When a patch exe starts, you will be given a dialog box which displays the path it will use. Make sure the path is 100% correct in every way, then you will have no problem.

Check in your SPWAW folder...make sure there isn't another SPWAW folder there.

Errr, umm...well it DOES MATTER if the game was downloaded from a server or from a disk, as that is how the path was titled by Matrix.
Maybe I'm wrong...but unless you renamed or altered the path name during setup, then (for simplicity sake) it will be under MATRIXGAMES.
Either way, yes...make sure the path names match.

Orzel is perhaps 99.9% correct.
What he didn't state emphatically enough (just for clarity's sake) is the original source for the file had a space between Matrix and Games, where all the previous files did not have the space.
A small detail, but a big detail with automated install routines.
The file would end up installing somewhere other than where it was required.
This link is perhaps the definitive posts for all things Mega Campaign related.

It demonstrates how to install all of the MCs including Watchtower and the patches.

I've just installed Watchtower too, and after a bit of directory fiddling it seems to work...(?)
...but are there any specific Watchtower patches I should look out for? I have the DF patches, and Campaign Fixer (that deals with the lost leaders), but are there specific fixes for Watchtower that I should seek out?
...and does anybody know where I might still get Lost Victories? If it's not commercially available any more I'm happy to cover disc and postage costs of someone in the forums and to make a donation to Matrix, in gratitude for a game that's cost me little but time, and time, and time, because I've enjoyed it so much.

Yep. If the path doesn't match, the update or anything else you want to shovel in will not make it to where you think it is going.
Some paths are totally automatic; I just had to rename MS Train Sim folder to get a second, stand alone installation. The MSTS installation routine insisted on one and only one path. Once I renamed the basic TS folder, it let me install wherever I wanted. So nice how these things are decided for us.

kokoda, there are specific patches for Watch Tower. Go under the download section in the Matrix Home page. They are a little more complicated than some of the others. See this thread for instructions:

There is also an icon update in the thread below.

Enjoy!

Thank you, young Jim

(presuming 1954 is your DOB)
I'll get on to this asap.
I think I got the mesage somewhere that the WTower patches have to be installed in particular directories...I'll muddle on.

Being Chris 1952 I somehow know it would please you
Psychic eh?
But I don't know the verb "to card", except as a process to treat wool(!).
Is it like someone signing your dance card? Or is it like those very forward american business girls who say things like "I really like your accent. Do you talk the same way in bed?" and then give you their card?
And they say "Earth Girls are Easy"!

Sorry, American slang for getting your ID checked at the bar cause you look too young to drink. lol ( that hasn't happened in a while, either.)

Too young to drink...

Actually, I was one of the lucky ones, when I turned 18, the drinking age was lowered to that, and when I turned 21, they raised it back to that too.

...that must have been in the dark ages!
Was that when Abraham Lincoln and General Patton were alive?
As Goblin would say: A young goblin can lose historical perspective. (Sorry Gob.)

No, 'twas towards the end of the age of hippies, 1972/73. God that seems a long time age when I see it in print.
