Despite putting a fighter group on top of my port, the carrier planes are not taking lot of casualties. These are Swordfish planes against Me109...
But my subs are taking damages...

So this is it? BoA is lost on turn 2? [:D]
This modification does not work for subs attacked by carrier planes?
January 15th 2021 - Beta 10U4
Port sizes 5+ may no longer be attacked by surface ships
Port size 1-4 defense is now 5.
Don't you consider that a port sizes 5+ is having some U-bunkers at a given point? Can you give a better protection to subs?
And, at last, why I don't see the AAA guns active in the above combat reports? Are they sleeping?

And comparing numbers, let's take the Ark Royal CV in 1939:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Ark_Royal_(91)
Numbers of carrier based planes (1939-1940):
26 x Swordfish
24 x Blackburn Skuas
Comparing to the I. Jadgkorps, let's assess 3 Gruppe of 40 planes plus Stab so around 150 planes.
Thus, I do not understand why Carrier based planes group has 10 steps while the I. Jadgkorps group has only 20 steps.
Reducing the carrier based planes group to 5-6 steps is more accurate imo.

CVs are 2x CV.
Air units are ~300 A/C
CVs are hard to balance in a game so there are a lot of factors that represent them including numbers, assortment, mobility, readiness, sorties.

Okay but there is still this 1/3 ratio. 2xCV = 100 planes for 10 steps. And air units are 300 planes for 20 steps.
My problem is that carrier based planes (namely Swordfish) that can do 1-1 kill ratio against fighter land based planes (namely Me109d or Me109e) in 1939. This is hard to believe.
I do not know what is the stats of carrier based planes nor their based experience for UK. But, is there a way to put some negative values here for
Air Combat?
Something like:
1939 = -1
1940 = -1
1941 = 0
1942 = 1
1943 = 2
1944 = 2
1945 = 3
Thanks

Given the existing stats, I do not understand the results.
Land based planes: Air Combat of 8

Carrier based planes: Air Combat of 4

When a carrier based plane is striking a port? Does it use Anti-Sub of 4 or does it use Naval Air of 8? 8 is a very big number if we compare with other 1939 bomber group.
Carrier based planes: Naval Air is 8
Tactical bomber group: Naval Air is 2 only
Ground Attack group: Naval Air is 3 only
And with Carrier Operations advancement , it means Naval Air can go up to 11 in 1944 for Carrier based planes whereas it will be only of 5 for the Tactical bomber in 1944. This is not even the starting value of the CV planes in 1939.
Either Tactical bombers are underrated, or carrier-based aircraft are overrated.

I have repeated the test several times. I can't do any damage more than 1 step on the Carrier based planes group. Despite an Air Combat of 8 vs 4. Are you sure of your damage formula?
Was it sure is that I am losing subs like hell...

This one is even better... I am losing planes, subs and no damage on the other side.

I'm looking into it.
