The Warplan Pacific beta is coming to an end and we're getting closer and closer to release.
With that in mind, we have prepared the
Warplan Pacific Tour, covering the main changes and improvements introduced in Warplan Pacific. The new series has a very special tour guide, as the videos are narrated by
Alvaro Sousa, the developer of the
Warplan series of games.
A new episode will be published on a weekly basis.
EPISODE #1 - Advancements and Unit Changes
You can see it here.
The first video covers changes in advancement that were based on player recommendations. It will also talk about unit differences between countries, the new marine unit ability, special country rules, and added events for China.
Find out more here.

Hey guys, minor correction by Alvaro:
I made one word error when I was talking about the new amphibious assault advancement. As your advancement level raises in amphibious assault, invasions become easier not harder as units lose less effectiveness when landing.
We hope you enjoy these videos!

Great video! I have never been a big naval guy so the struggle in China will actually be more interesting to me than the main show. I really hope that Vic has time to include an early Japanese invasion of China scenario.

There was mention of the China War in the video. Is there a command conflict on the Japanese side? ie, are there competing pressures between the land vs sea strategies? Or is the Japanese player free to deplete China of forces to use them in the Pacific?

Nice first video. Thanks. Waiting for the release.
When I saw the possibility of the US marine unit to cross water and move from island to island, I was astonished.
Alvaro, what is the reasoning behind that? An area of water is still an area of water.

It has to be 2 non-ocean tiles. Represents a small crossing compared to the scale of the game. You still can't attack across it so if the enemy is there you can do anything. But considering it's a PT boat ride away.... I didn't players constantly expending LCs and micromanaging this stuff. It doesn't really impact much in the game except for the Solomon Island chain.
The idea was taken from World in Flames.
