My impression is that he wants to translate the in game text. Not the manual.

We have not set up a way to translate the game text yet. Not sure if/when this will happen. We'd have to bring across the WitE1 method we had and then hook it up in all the new places. We never bothered with WitW. I'm not sure we will be able to do it for WitE2. We would need a programmer to do this, and then there would be a lot of translating to do.

it is a pity that there is no possibility to translate your game. Other language versions would definitely affect the sales of the game, and WitE2 is the best tactical strategy game about ww2. Is it such a big problem to exclude those containing text from the game files?
I think there would be some people on this forum who would make unofficial translations of WitE2 into German, French, Russian, Polish, Spanish, Chinese.....

Can you for example change the w_gameEvent.dat file into a txt or other editable file? I think it contains all events e.g.: Situation Report.

We'll certainly be looking into making things more localization friendly in the future.

What is the time horizon, when can the first facilitations be expected?

If WitE2 uses a translation system similar to WitE1 I suggest to adapt it to accept more than one translation file to permit multiple languages.
The main translation file (translation.csv) could still be german while others could be translation2.csv, translation3.csv etc etc

A couple of localizations would indeed be great, but I guess it would be way too expensive compared to the sales increase. This is the same thing with other teams, like JTS'S for example.

Games like WITE are definitively closer to a niche rather than mainstream ...

This said, a translation of the manual might be a good start. I may have a look translating it in French if I still have some free time left ...

Intention was more to have an official german translation for in-game texts and leave other translations as option for users
