"Luncher.exe"

Every time I lunch WitE 2 and starting playing a scenario my CPU Fan turns up and makes noise.Checking the Windows Task Manager I see that Luncher.exe is consuming about 8% of CPU Power(Ryzen 7 3700X).

I wonder what this application is doing and why it need so much processing power (spying?)

After forced ending of the Application my CPU Fan goes normal again and is silent.

Anybody has the same issues?

It's the launcher for WitE2, no idea why it's left on. Takes more processing power for me than WitE2 does...

Have you tried just running the exe directly from the game directory?

I always lunch the game from a link that points to

D:\Matrix Games\Gary Grigsby's War in the East 2\Launcher.exe

After pressing "play" the game starts but the luncher is still in the backround and uses up to 10% of the CPU.

But now I'm using the direkt link to the game.

But I wounder why the luncher need so much CPU Power..

The game launcher will keep running by default. It shouldn't be a significant drain on your system unless your CPU is otherwise overtaxed or relatively slow. It's a .NET application that is setup with the links for the game as well as support and such and also periodically pulls info from our news feed to show to customers. It's not spying on you.

You're welcome to launch the game directly if you prefer.
