Interdiction

When flying CAP over your own invasion TF unloading at an enemy base it sometimes happens that the enemy sends in troops or supplies via air transport.
During the supplies phase somtimes a message appears, saying that planes flying transport were intercepted.
Does anybody know what that exactly means? Are these transport planes turned back, shot down or just discovered and not bothered at all?
Thanks for your input.
Cheers,
Chris

In my exp, this usually means your A/C was shot down/lost for each time you see that message. At start of turn just note the numbers/conditions in your trans units for a while and you will soon get the feel of things.
Hope this helps.

Hey Lrfss, so my Rufes did bag some of your C-47s indeed? Glad to hear that, LOL!
BTW, I'm waiting for your turn...

WHen you put LCRAP on an enemy base where your opponent is ferrying with transports planes, you will intercept them.
In my experience (over PM), if fighters are flying defensive CAP over this spot too, fighters of both sides will fight near the transports. I have seen C-47, P-40 and Zeroes lost to air-to-air combat in turn where there was none, except this king of interception.

...and as a REAL bonus, if you intercept a transport, sometimes the entire parent unit of the infantry it's carrying is destroyed as well

I was unable to supply PM by air because my opponent took Buna, made an airbase there and kept CAP up continuously. I lost many transports but I only carried supply. Its safer to use fast transports or subs for troops whether you are bringing them in or taking them out.
