Help with Multiplayer

I have a new computer and I installed the game from steam. I went to PBEM to continue my multiplayer game and it says it is missing a dat file. The \v1.10.00\1939 World at War.dat to be specific. I see it in the \PBEM\DAT folder but it is the 1.11.00 folder. There is no 1.10.00 folder. What do I do?

Thanks
Ed

I created a v1.10.00 folder and copied the .dat files into it. Still not working. Would really like some help Matrix.

Hi Edprem,

Sorry to hear about the trouble and the good news is that this type of error should now be a thing of the past once you start a new game under v1.11.00.

However for games started before this latest update, and when you switch computers, the error may still occur.

To work around this please download the following file:

https://we.tl/t-VgjrIocegW

Then place it in the following folder on your end, note the folder may be hidden so you may have to manually enter the path as needed, and replace <username> with your own username for your PC:

\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - World at War\PBEM++\DAT\v1.10.00

If the v1.10.00 folder is not there, you may need to manually create it before placing the downloaded file in there.

Hope this helps,
Hubert

I did exactly what you asked me to do....

Now when I click on PBEM I no longer get to the games. It now tells me that I must update my game to the latest version and then gives me a Client error....

As an aside... the game is installed on a different drive than the C drive. Same with the old computer but I thought I would mention it.

I have now uninstalled and reinstalled the game. It continues to tell me I need to update to the latest version...
and that I have a client mismatch. I am completely baffled now.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

That's probably an unrelated error and likely a temporary issue with the server. I just tried to access the server on my end and it is currently working, could you try again and confirm?

Hubert,

Thanks, I have it resolved.... You were correct that the other error was unrelated...
