Rail and Road Bridges

I don't see any MP benefit for trying to cross rivers at rail and road bridges.
Can that "feature" be added in any way?

I couldn't find anything in the manual. Am I missing something?

Been thinking about this too, mostly for major rivers and road movement. For rail bridges I kind of assume that they are part of the rail damage/repair system.

Maybe a number of bridges that are in a hex that can carry tanks over the major river in a given direction... An option to blow bridges over major crossing and maybe some bonus for taking them intact. The more intact major bridges there are in a hex, the less the bottleneck would be for moving troops over the river.

For smaller rivers it should be less critical as a new bridge can be build in less than a week by army engineers I assume.

Yes that is what I was thinking.

I was mainly concerned with the double wide railroad bridges at Vitebsk.

7th Panzer is on the ne side of the Dvina and 12th Panzer is on the w side.
They have 12 and 6 MPs respectively. Yet neither can do even a hasty!

They other thing I don't get is that is the Dvina really a major river at this point.

I've been wanting this to be addressed as well, I was thinking have an attached unit of bridging engineers would make major river crossings not so hard on MP's

Maybe these three charts help your immersion of bridges.
Additional to this, every Ground Element is tested for disruption when doing cross river attacks.
